I'm not a good "blogger" - it's only been what, three plus years since the last post?

I will try to do this more.  Honest.
Thanksgiving 2012

I don't have a problem with "food porn" (the loving nick name for posting your culinary creations on a social network like Facebook or Pinterest); but my BFF does :)  It's actually quite funny to hear her rail and complain about my doing this.

In honor of said BFF, here is the "2012 Thanksgiving Turkey" entry for Facebook Foodie Food Porn:

This is my version of Anne Burrells' "Herb Crusted Turkey" - I didn't brine it, but did everything else.  And made gravy.  Being blessed with "the gravy gene" I do make a mean gravy.  Any kind.

I was also turned loose to make BFF's "Mom's Stuffing" - which is basically a preparation nightmare version of a juiced up Mrs. Cubbisons' back of the box recipe.  Preparation nighmare you say?  Well, try having to de-string the celery, chop olives by hand (oh no, we can't buy regular chopped olives in a can); roasting a couple of turkey legs the same way the turkey is, and chopping said un-stringy celery and requisite onions into basically mush.  I've helped the last few years, and have made the suggestion to do all of this chopping in a food processor.  I got the OH NO YOU DON'T reply.  Next year, what she doesn't know won't hurt her ... LOL

So, we are now through "Two Of The Big Three" as my mother would have said.  One more to go.  At Christmas, I do wish my Mom was still around.  It was her favorite holiday ...

I beg your pardon. I never promised you a ...

...in theory, you could fill in the blanks. But I figure that posting something at least once a month for the time being will be in order.

I know the "therapeutic value" of journaling; and for a time, I was pretty religious about putting my feelings to paper, if not to a blank screen (I am cursed with the ability of being able to type faster than I can hand write). But there are times, once you've been sitting in front of a screen (either small or large) for 10-15 hours at a time, that regurgitating thoughts just didn't work for me. But I resolve to be better. Or at least try.

The last couple of years haven't been the best for me as far as personal times go, but things are going better. After taking responsibility for things I have done in the past, it's a long slow journey back to what I used to consider "normalcy" and truly a single step at a time process. But things *are* going better - I am once again employed (part time) by a wonderful individual who has made the commitment to trust me despite my past failings, and we are building a very positive business venture together. I have come to realize that those of my friends who have chosen to stick with me are truly those who are on the "keeper" list - and those of who refuse to look past my past, aren't worth the change you find at the bottom of the washer when it's done. I've learned that simple living is probably better than not, and while it's been a tough road, I can do it. I have my best friend to thank for that, who I know I exasperate and frustrate multiple times a day, and I wonder all the time why she puts up with me :) ... our relationship confounds many; and it's just easier that way, you know.

So, here it is; unedited and unpublished. Until you read this.

So, someone said I should "Blog" ...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ...

No. Wait. That's a movie intro. Not my intro.

I'm just Sue. My life, and this blog, will be a journey. Perhaps later, than sooner. But a journey none the less.

Hop aboard if you like.
